28thA Paisley Brownies

On Wednesday 27th April 2011 Brownies from the Martyrs Royal Wedding.  During the evening they made invitations, a wedding guest list, crowns, made a toast to the happy couple with pink champagne flutes and enjoyed a special wedding cake and then we had the first waltz.

At the beginning of April, some of the Brownies joined 150 Brownies and Rainbows from throughout the Division for a cinema trip. We met at the Showcase cinema at 10.00am for a special viewing. We were lucky enough to see the film “Hop” that had only been released the day before. Here are some of the Brownies before we went in to the cinema.

We waited patiently for the Easter Bunny to visit us at the church.

After a couple of weeks off for Spring Break, the Brownies returned just before the Easter weekend. We had an evening of craft activities when we made cards and pom-pom Easter Bunnies.
The Brownies have continued to work and play hard. All the girls have been working on another “safety” Interest badge. This time it has been Crime Prevention. We have been finding out more about keeping ourselves and our property safe. This culminated in a visit from a Police Officer, Sergeant Harley who chatted to the girls about many aspects of crime prevention and answered their many questions as well as testing their knowledge.

Each Brownie had prepared a poster to discourage vandalism. The Brownies had a secret vote to select the favourites and these are now displayed around the church and in Ralston Community Sports Centre.

At the end of the visit, it was decided that the girls had learned even more than is expected in the badge and they can now all add this award to their sashes.

We are now starting our preparations for our final night of the session, when families and some guests will be invited along to join us for the evening.
