She will be demonstrating live how to update and login and will also take a question and answer session. Please bring your log in and password as this will be a hands-on session.

Tuesday 7th September 2010 from 7 pm to 8.45 pm at Lab 3 (Room J312), University of the West of Scotland, High Street, Paisley, PA1 2BE.

There will be an open house session between 5.45 - 6.45 if you are able to come along earlier. Places are limited to 18 so book early!

FOOD HYGIENE COURSE AT SOUTH NEWTON  COURSE FEE: £16 PER PERSON

This training is open to all Leaders regardless of section. The Food Hygiene Course is a six hour course with a short question paper at the end. Candidates must complete the full six hours. Food Hygiene is a legal requirement for all food handlers who cater for groups - for example at coffee mornings, etc. For a renewal you only need to attend for the renewal training.

PRACTICAL CAMP TRAINING

This training is for all leaders who want to know more about camping. 

The training will involve all aspects of camping and the team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

WALKING SAFELY OUT AND ABOUT

This is a very basic introduction to the Girlguiding adult walking training scheme called Out and About. 

It's for Guiders of all sections who want to take their girls out in local areas, to the park or round the village and want to make sure it is done safely.

This is an optional qualification but we will also be telling you about the rest of the scheme and the hillwalking qualifications you could gain. Everyone welcome, inside only, NO boots required.

 This training is open to all Leaders regardless of section. 

The 1st Response training does not teach full First Aid but to let you know what you as a Guider would be expected to know and do if you were the first person dealing with injuries and accidents

It is part of the Leadership Qualification now so come along and get part of your qualification completed. 

In order to gain your 1st Response, you must be able to attend both Parts 1 and 2 of the training.

You will need to bring a 1st Response pack with you to these trainings.  These are available from the Guide Shop. 

For a  renewal which is due every three years, you only need to attend for the renewal training and bring your 1st Response pack.

CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING

At South Newton from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm.

What do you need to know to keep you and your girls safe?

This is your chance to earn a Certificate and explore the tricky subject of child protection and risk assessment in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

And don’t worry, there isn’t an exam at the end!!

This module is essential if you are a Leader and/or working towards being a Leader and/or Unit Helper or have anything to do with children in Guiding at any level.

Adult Leaders Qualification


Any pre-warrant guider or guiders requiring assistance should contact their Mentor or Guiding Development Representative for assistance.

If you are unsure about what you need to do to complete your warrant or qualification or if you are considering becoming a warranted guider and want to chat about it, please contact us.

Even if you have not yet received your Module Book, you can start work on your warrant/ qualification.  If you have been in a Unit for any length of time, you will probably have done a lot of the work anyway.
