We’re 100!! and already we’re Changing the World!

Our fantastic County Centenary Launch took place in September in the Lagoon Centre in
Paisley and already everyone is looking forward to an exciting and adventurous 2010.

The Centenary Planning Committee has been working really hard to support and enable Units throughout Renfrewshire to take part in all kinds of events, parties, camps, trips and mountain top moments. In this special year we want as many girls as possible in the County to have the opportunity to share in these celebrations and to be able to say ‘I was there’.

Here is something to think about…………………………

Because YOU said YES!

A young girl will feel the pride of being someone special as she puts her uniform on for the first time.

A girl can move to a new town and have ‘instant friendships’ with girls she has never met.
Parents will experience that special pride when they listen to their daughter speak of her achievements

Eyes will brighten with excitement as the kindling catches on the first campfire.

Nervous giggles will leave tents as the girls fall asleep at their first night at camp.

The community and the world will be richer because a girl has learned the importance of caring for her environment, and the warm feeling that comes from giving service to someone less fortunate than herself.

A parent will find an enrolment badge tucked away in a drawer as their daughter packs to leave home for her first adventures as a young adult.

A young woman will say yes when Girlguiding contacts her and asks her to consider becoming a leader as she had so much fun as a guide.
