CHANGING THE WORLD - CENTENARY CHALLENGE
The 1st Elderslie Brownies have been very busy organising their events for the "Changing the World" - they have learned about asthma and the work of Asthma UK. During the October holiday the Brownies carried out a sponsored housework in an asthma friendly way and raised £200.00.
Alison Bertram, the community fundraiser for Asthma UK agreed to visit the unit on 4th December to accept the cheque from the Brownies and present them with their Asthma UK and Guiding UK badges.
Secondly, the unit have arranged with Save the Children to adopt the Paisley shop on 6th December. The Brownies will be split into 2 shifts on the day (10.00a.m. -12 p.m.) and (12.30 to 2.30 p.m.) and will have the opportunity to help serve customers, sort donations, price goods and hopefully dress the window. Save the Children's Scottish Retail Manager is visiting the unit on 20th November to talk to the Brownies about the work of Save the Children and answer questions.
